Sereena Jivraj is an MS1 at the TCU & UNTHSC School of Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. She has longstanding interests in Maternal and Child Health as well as surgery and nutrition. In recent years, she has become frustrated with consistent high U.S. maternal mortality rates. Such conditions are unacceptable for high-income countries like the United States, especially when the disparities are driven by racial inequalities.

In her career, Jivraj hopes to help tackle these disparities as well as general disparities faced by those in lower socioeconomic classes. Healthcare is a fundamental right, and the care one receives should not be influenced by materialistic ideals. Jivraj aspires to provide comprehensive care to all her patients and focus on populations in need upon graduating from medical school.
